And their LED modules, reflectors, and emitter designs have been made to be virtually indestructible. That also makes them resistant to dust ingress. An excellent tactical flashlight will often be made from hard-anodized aluminum, with a top-tier IPX8 rating for waterproofing, allowing it to run immersed for some time. Tactical flashlights are intended to withstand a beating during extensive law enforcement or military use. Others still use micro USB charging but can be on the slower side of USB rechargeable tactical lights. Some even feature important features like magnetic charging, especially lights like the Olight Warrior X. Most of the best tactical flashlights are compatible with the ubiquity and speed of USB-C cables and chargers. The high performance of these batteries allows for high maximum outputs and Turbo modes like on the PD35 Tac. These batteries can be charged in a cradle, but the trend nowadays is to accept USB cables directly into the aluminum body of light for convenience. You can still find lights that use or accept these battery cells, but for the most part, they have been replaced with designs that utilize lithium-ion rechargeable batteries like the 1860. Traditional alkaline batteries, such as AA batteries, AAA batteries, and D cells, and even lithium cells like CR123, have largely gone by the wayside in the tactical flashlight design world. Others rely on shaping the beam with reflectors for maximum performance in the distance thrown and area covered. Some tactical lights use multiple LED modules to accomplish this feat. That brightness is measured in terms of lumens: the higher the number, the brighter a light can get. Maximum brightness, lighting modes, output, and beam distance are essential for tactical lights like the Fenix PD35, allowing you to see objects in the dark and at a distance. Unlike regular everyday carry flashlights, which tend to sport lower output and moonlight modes for longer runtimes, tactical flashlights usually feature high-output brightness, a strobe mode, a forward-throw switch for momentary-on activation, aggressive knurling, and sometimes a strike bezel. Tactical flashlights are designed with critical situations and self-defense in mind. In this guide, we'll explain the difference between general-purpose everyday carry lights and tactical ones and introduce you to some of the best tactical flashlights you can buy right now. The best tactical flashlights do more than shine a light for you in the dark: they come with a feature set and construction that lets you get to your mission-critical work, especially when lives might be on the line. But based on the results, it might not be immediately apparent what exactly makes a flashlight tactical or why you might even want a tactical flashlight in your own everyday carry. In your search for your next everyday carry flashlight, you've probably seen the word "tactical" used to describe them. ![]()

The downsides include losing about 10% of the field of view, as well as the footage being irreversibly altered to smooth it out. HyperSmooth combines the Hero’s large field of view with information from built in gyroscopes to deliver a more accurate stabilization of footage than would be available just from optical tracking. With HyperSmooth, or footage from a compatible GoPro stabilized through ReelSteady GO, you can have rock-steady shots without the need to ever balance a gimbal. Footage with HyperSmooth enabled looks great. What’s even better is that the tech actually delivers results. A gimbal adds a lot of complexity, along with an extra battery, while a GoPro has a small and simple form factor. That’s why, when GoPro announced the Hero 7’s highlight feature of HyperSmooth, promising gimbal like results with electronic image stabilization, I was interested. While this can work fine for slight shifts, I’ve never been very impressed with the results. At $99, it’s cheaper and easier to use than any other competitive GoPro stabilization option. It delivers smooth and consistent results, while offering plenty of options for refining the output. GoPro has also introduced a Quick Key fob that features a built-in SD card slot, so you can quickly transfer footage from your camera to your smartphone. The contents of the review can summed up with this statement: if you own a GoPro compatible with the software, you should get the software. There's a new cloud connection feature that will see your GoPro Hero 5 auto-uploading footage to your GoPro+ account over Wi-Fi while the camera is charging. It can also record stereo audio, and it has active noise cancellation built in, thanks to three on-board microphones, for “audio that’s as good as the video quality.” The company is also calling the Hero 5 Session its “most rugged GoPro yet".Īnother thing that makes the Hero 5 Black stand out from the Session is GPS for automatic location tracking. The closest you get to blipping down a couple of cogs in readiness for a corner is by activating the one-pedal drive, which slows the car more quickly when you take your foot off the throttle before touching the brakes this also helps recharge the battery. There are no gears, so you just press on the throttle and let it whisk you away. Like any electric car, the Mustang Mach-E drives quite differently from its conventional namesake. You can spend hours on the Ford website configuring a Mach-E to be just the way you want it. There’s a full lineup for the Mach-E, with options for rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, four different levels of horsepower from 266 hp to 480 hp and batteries with official ranges from 340 kilometres to 491 km. James Engelsman and Thomas Holland from Throttle House give the Ford high points for ride and handling, with the body shape making for a roomy cabin. But it’s certainly not the most expensive.Īn electric crossover bearing a Mustang badge may be heresy to some but the Mach E is a capable all-rounder with good performance when you want it. It’s not the most practical, despite its hatchback. It’s not the fastest, though the more powerful GT-Performance Edition will help fix that. So is the Mach-E any good? As we noted in our first impressions after a brief drive last year, yes, it’s very good indeed. However, its name is too valuable to lose as a performance icon, so this Mach-E is a handing-over of the brand. The traditional Mustang remains in production, but as Ford pushes toward an all-electric future, the car itself is doomed and will probably die before the end of this decade. Ford is very clear that it will no longer build sedans and coupes, forsaking them for the much more popular and practical SUVs and crossovers. In the United States, where it was named North American Utility Vehicle of the Year despite hardly anybody actually driving it, it’s considered an SUV, which is absurd. It does not rumble like a Mustang, and it certainly doesn’t feel like a Mustang. The new all-electric Ford Mach-E is not a Mustang in the true sense of the nameplate, but it probably will be soon. Let’s just get the Mustang thing out of the way first. ![]() ![]() With the update to iPadOS 13, you can really see how multiple app windows can shine on an iPad. you're better off with the built-in Notes app. If you're hoping for a notebook that works like Apple's built-in Notes app, well. Let Him take the lead by praying for guidance for your life, marriage, job, business, etc. God is incomparable so allow Him to lead you in every decision you are making. He is a miracle-working God whose thoughts are always higher, bigger and better than the best plans of humans. God rewards people who trust and worship Him in truth. This is a call-up message for all Christians living today to be obedient to God in all circumstances. He can do the same to you so believe in the mysterious plans of God for your life. Interestingly, after the Israelites became slaves in Babylon for 70 years, God brought them home through His magnificent plans and restored to them everything they lost. In addition, everything they had lost would be restored through the unrestricted power of God. If these rebellious people respond to God’s purposes for them, then the divine blessings will be given to them in abundance. It was a condition given to the people of Israel to obey God and enjoy a blessing far beyond borders. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:8 – 9) “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” says the LORD. So He promised them a brighter future if only they will obey Him. He is still a just God who rewards people according to their deeds. God said his thoughts are not the thoughts of His people to prove that He is unlimited in knowledge and strength. “Who announces the end from the beginning and reveals beforehand what has not yet occurred, who says, ‘My plan will be realized, I will accomplish what I desire” (Isaiah 46:10) What Does “My Thoughts Are Not Your Not Means?” He knows the beginning and ending of everything. But the Lord spoke to assure them that there is something better that is yet to come. It all happened in 597 BC when several thousand of Jerusalem’s most capable people were captured by Babylon. Because He has something good for them in the long run. In Jeremiah 29:11 God drew the attention of the Israelites that He is all-knowing so they should submit to His plans without being doubtful or afraid of the future. God knows best so go down on your knees and pray for his help. Worries can steal your joy and every good thing you have.
